I’m proud to be able to offer professional and reliable proofreading services to students starting from only £15. My price list can be found on the Student Proofreading page. I would always recommend requesting a personalised quote via the Get a Quote page for an accurate cost for my service.
This is something that you must check with your university or supervisor. In my experience, many universities actively encourage students to get their work proofread, particularly if English is not the student’s first language, but some may not.

This depends on the length of the document.

I am aware of student proofreading services that promise to proofread dissertations or theses of more than 10,000 words overnight! This is not possible unless the service provided is substandard.

I do offer a 24-hour service, but only for essays of 3000 words or less.

When you contact me with your specific requirements, we will be able to agree upon the optimum time.

Proofreading will improve the language, clarity, structure, arguments and overall quality of your work, which will contribute to you securing a better grade.
I can ensure that your document reads confidently in an academic style that it is grammatically correct and error-free.
Up to 20% of your grade is determined by the quality of your writing in most universities. I will improve the academic tone, register, flow and structure of your writing to make it more effective.

I proofread using Microsoft Word ‘Track Changes’.

To see the changes made (and the comments added), you need to click on the ‘Track Changes: All Markup’ button in the review tab. I suggest that you go through the document and either accept or reject the changes that I have made. Accepting a change will integrate it into the proofread document. Rejecting it will remove the change from the proofread document.

It is preferable to proofread an entire thesis in the order in which it will be submitted to ensure consistency. However, I am aware of time constraints, and I understand that some students will still be working on sections whilst I am proofreading others, so this is not always possible.

I do offer a final proofread of the entire thesis (once you have completed your final checks) at a reduced rate, which I highly recommend for students who have sent me their work chapter by chapter. However, I appreciate that this is an extra cost, and some students will be happy to check that their work is consistent themselves.

Proofreading will improve your paper’s language, clarity, structure, arguments and overall quality. Proofreading will allow you to submit a thoroughly checked, well-written paper.
No. This would be plagiarism, and students can face severe academic penalties if they submit work that is not theirs. You want to feel proud of the work that you have submitted and it must be your own.
Upon receipt of your document and the required return date, I will email you an invoice. I ask for 50% payment upfront and 50% upon receipt of the proofread document. I accept payment via a BACS bank transfer or PayPal.
